BIOGRAPHY
Marie Messina Curtis has been a professional photographer most of her
adult life. She became interested in large format work in the early 90's and has made it a source of contentment and a challenge to continue her work in black and white.
Belonging to a group that is strictly large format keeps sharpening her enthusiasm for the art, and makes her keenly aware of the pitfalls of such a specialty.
Much of her work is silver gelatin, with some carbon transfer, platinum/palladium and wet plate collodian thrown in.
While she started with the landscape, her choice of subjects has been very eclectic encompassing still life, botanicals, and some people.
